Subject: Inspection 50-412/83-07 This refers to your letters dated July 12 and July 20, 1983, in response to our letter dated June 10, 1983.
Thank you for informing us of the corrective and preventive actions documented in your letters. As discussed with Mr. Siegel of your staff by Mr. L. Tripp of this office during the July 27,1983 onsite meeting, we expect the final corrective ac-

tions involving the reanalysis and redesign of the diesel exhaust piping to be sun-marized in a subsequent sutaittal. Also, in the July 27 meeting, Duquesne Light commiitted to submit the results of the benchmark piping analyses and conclusions regarding the generic influences of heavy wall fittings at a later date. These actions will be examined during future inspections of your licensed program.
