Division of Radiation Safety and Safeguards SUMMARY Scope:

This routine, announced inspection was conducted in the area of the Physical Security Program for Power Reactors, specifically:

Protected and Vital Areas (Barriers, Alarms and Assessment), Alarm Stations and Communications', and Testing, Maintenance and Compensatory Measures were inspected. Additionally, several prior "open" items wer< reviewed (92-11-01, 02, and 03, as well as 92-26-01).

Results:

In the area inspected, violations or deviations were not identified. The licensee's corrective actions in response to the four prior items are appropriate to "close" the items.

Barriers, alarms, and assessment were effective and adequate. Radios and alarm stations operated as required.

The licensee had an effective program for preventive maintenance. The use of compensatory measures was minimal.

The licensee had an overall effective and-well supervised Physical Security Program.
