NOTICE OF VIOLATION: PRAIRIE ISLAND NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT (NRC INSPECTION REPORT No. 50-282/970 U(DRP); 50-306/97011(DRP))
Dear Mr. Wadley:
This will acknowledge receipt of your letter dated August 25,1997, in response to our letter dated July 24,1997, transmitting a Notice of Violation associated with inspection Report No. 50-282/97011(DRP); 50 306/97011(DRP). We have reviewed your corrective actions and have no further questions at this time regarding Violations 1 and 2. These corrective actions will be examined during future inspections.
For Violation 3, we request additional information, in your response, you discussed redirecting an emergency light to illuminate part of the access / egress pathway for the Safeguards Bus 15 room, but did not discuss the unlighted portion of the pathway in the east / west hallway where the door to the room is located. We consider that unlighted portion of the pathway to be part of the Violation NRC resident inspector discussions with the system engineer indicated that you have plans for additional corrective actions for that problem. You are requested to submit an additional response to Violation 3 which discusses corrective actions to illuminate the entire pathway to the Safeguards Bus 15 room.
