Drill The inspectors observed the response by the licensee organization during a scheduled assembly drill conducted on May 13, 1981. This drill consisted of sounding the assembly / evacuation alarm, and accounting for all personnel onsite by using the Emergency Planning Implementing Procedure (EPIP) entitled " Plant Evacuation and Assembly," (QEP-360-2).

The drill began at 11:04 a.m. with the sounding of the assembly / evacuation alarm. Individuals reported to one of the designated assembly areas, but not necessarily to their assigned area. Those that did not report to their assigned area were accounted for by security personnel who were present at all the assembly areas.

In preparation for a site evacuation, the Rad / Chem Director determined meteorological conditions at the time of the drill, and determined the proper evacuation route aad designated offsite assembly area.

All individuals were accountad for within thirty minutes of the sounding of the alarm, and the drill was terminated at 11:30 a.m.

During the exercise, partial manning of the TSC was accomplished with the following GSEP directors: Rad / Chem, Scores, Administration, Operations, Security, Technical, and Environs. Appropriate procedures of the GSEP station group were followed. The Rad / Chem Director dispatched Rad / Chem Technicians to the assemble areas for personnel monitoring.

No items of noncompliance were identified.
