GINNA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT RECORD STORAGE FACILITY This is in response to your letter of September 7, 1979, in which you indicate that you plan to consider paragraph 17.4 of Revision 1 of NRC's Standard Review Plan (NUREG-75/087) in the design of a new record storage facility.

Paragraph 17.4 provides alternatives to the'ire protection requirements for storing records given in Regulatory Guide 1.88 (Revision 2).

From the standpoint of fire protection of records, a facility which meets paragraph 17.4 is acceptable to us as an alternative to a facility which meets part 5.6 of ANSI N45.2.9-1974 as endorsed by Regulatory Guide 1.88 {Revision 2).
