TAC NUMBER D1 134 REF: I. TXU Power letter, logged TXX-06052, from Mike Blevins to the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, dated March 31, 2006.

- Chief Nuclear Officer, Omaha Public Power District, dated May 10, 2006.

Gentlemen:

TXU Generation Company LP (TXU Power) requests withdrawal of the relief requested in Reference 1. After discussion with the NRC staff and review of Reference 2, neither a request for relief from ASME Code requirements nor authorization of an alternative to NRC requirements in 10 CFR 50.55a is needed for TXU Power to use phosphor imaging plates in lieu of film.

TXU Power will use radiographic technique requirements in ASME Section III (which references ASME Section V) in place of nondestructive examination requirements of our original construction code (as allowed by ASME Section XI),

which is authorized in 10 CFR 50.55a. A reconciliation of the later Code Editions will be performed in accordance with ASME Section XI.
