Description

Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations 50.47(b)(7) requires, in part, that information is made available to the public on a periodic basis about how they will be notified in an emergency and about their actions during an emergency. Contrary to this, in 2008 the licensee failed to ensure that information was made available to the public on a periodic basis about how they would be notified in an emergency and about their actions during an emergency. Specifically, public information required by the licensees emergency plan to be published in the Feist Yellow Pages and distributed in the plume phase emergency planning zone was not included. This was identified in the licensee=s corrective action program as Condition Report 2008-00394. This finding is of very low safety significance because it is a failure to comply with a regulatory requirement, is associated with planning standard 10 CFR 50.47(b)(7), and is not a functional failure of the planning standard because the licensee had a process for annually providing basic emergency planning information to the public and other telephone books serving the plume phase emergency planning zone contained the required emergency planning information.
