South Carolina Electric & Gas Company is submitting this Special Report pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR 20.2201 (b)(2)(ii)(d), Reports of theft or loss of licensed material. This report addresses the requirement that subsequent to filing a written report per 10 CFR 20.2201(b)(1) (Reference), the licensee shall also report any additional substantive information on the loss or theft within 30 days after the licensee learns of such information.

On November 20, 2015, during the VCSNS 2015 fall refueling outage, the temporary disposal location for Special Nuclear Material (SNM) was searched with specialized inspection equipment. The SNM was not physically located during this search. The inspection equipment was not able to access the full length of the passages because the fitting at the end of each storage location blocked further passage. VCSNS intends to use inspection equipment capable of going beyond the fitting in the spring 2017 refueling outage.
