Victor Dricks, 817-200-1128 NRC Names New Senior Resident Inspector at Arkansas Nuclear One The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Chris Henderson as its senior resident inspector at Arkansas Nuclear One located in Russellville, Ark.

Chris Hendersons experience, training and commitment to the NRCs mission will help ensure the continued safe operation of Arkansas Nuclear One, said Region IV Administrator Kriss Kennedy.

Henderson joined the agency in 2010 as a reactor operations engineer in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation in Rockville, Md., and has served as the resident inspector at the Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Neb. He served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear-trained submarine officer and as a member of the staff for Submarine Group Seven in Yokosuka, Japan. He holds bachelors and masters degrees in nuclear engineering from Kansas State University.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant has at least two resident inspectors. Henderson joins resident inspectors Tom Sullivan and Margaret Tobin at Arkansas Nuclear One. They conduct inspections, monitor plant operations and safety-significant work projects and interact with plant employees and the public.
