Subject:

Submission of Changes to License Emergency Plan under 10CFR50.54(q)

Ref: The University of Texas at Austin Facility License R-129, Docket 50-602 Sir:

Attached please find a revised copy of the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) for The University of Texas at Austin, Nuclear Engineering Teaching Laboratory.

Motivation for this revision originated with an evaluation of the ERP classification. While it was determined that the ERP does not contain information that would require the previous classification of 'OFFICAL USE ONLY,' the review also identified the need to (1) incorporate the impact from changes in the University administrative structure, site infrastructure, and off-site support organizations, (1) correct grammatical errors, (2) better integrate with the National Incident Management System model, and (3) improve the presentation of information. A summary of the changes and evaluation are attached, along with the revised Emergency Response Plan, Revision 4. '.

The ERP was reviewed by the University Preparedness Office. The proposed ERP revision was reviewed by the Reactor Oversight Committee on 15 April 2019, evaluated to not reduce the effectiveness of the ERP, and approved. Please contact me by phone at 512-232-5373 or email whaley@mail.utexas.edu if you require additional information.
