RHODE ISLAND ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION - NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT NO. 05000193/2024202

Dear Dr. Goodwin:

From May 20 - 22, 2024, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted a security inspection at the Rhode Island Nuclear Science Center Materials Testing Reactor. The inspection results were discussed on May 22, 2024. The enclosed report documents the inspection results.

The inspection examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to security, compliance with the Commission rules and regulations, and with the conditions of your license.

The inspectors reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed personnel. Based on the results of this inspection, no security concerns or non-compliances with NRC requirements were identified. No response to this letter is required.

In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the NRC's document system (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)).

ADAMS is accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room). However, because of the security-related information contained in the enclosure, and in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d), a copy of the enclosure will not be available for public inspection.
