Administrative Change to the Rhode Island Nuclear Science Center Security Plan Docket No. 50-193
Dear Mr. Boyle:
During a recent inspection of the security program for the Rhode Island Nuclear Science Center, the inspector noted that the facility 10 CFR 73 Facility Security Plan gives a specific time line for notifying the NRC about events that requires the activation of the plan. It was suggested that an administrative change could be made to the plan so that it references 10 CFR 73.67 Appendix G, rather than specifying the notification timeline. This change has the advantage that if the regulations ever change, the plan would not need to be changed. Our staff is in the process of making this administrative change. A copy of the updated plan will be sent to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission once it has been made.
