TELEPHONE INTERVIEW OF RANDY LEDFORD .

1. REASON FOR INTERVIEW During a telephone interview with J. Brewster on April 8, 1980, Mr. Brewster stated that Mr. Ledford might be able to provide information of the type I was Truckingseeking and inforised in Columbia, SouthmeCarolina.

SUMMARY

OF INTERVIEW On Apri) 8,1980, I contacted Mr. Ledford by telephone (803-794-3007) at his place of employment, Superior Trucking in Columbia, South Carolina.

After I identified myself and explained the purpose of the telephone call, Mr. Ledford provided the following information.

BURIAL OF LIQUIDS Mr. Ledford responded to direct questions, stating that he had no knowledge of the burial of radioactive liquids at Chem-Nuclear's Barnwell disposal site. To his knowledge any liquids were solidified before being buried. ,

BURIAL OF SPENT FUEL Hr. Ledford stated that he had no knowledge of spent fuel being shipped to or buried at Chem-Nuclear's Barnwell disposal site.

DOT REQUIREMENTS Mr. Ledford explained that he had been employed by Home Transportation for approximately three years ending in December 1977 and had set up their Nuclear Division in Barnwell. He stated that when Chem-Nuclear began

$$y questions, Mr. Ledford stated that he had no knowledge of any changing of drivers' logs and continued, stating that he was still good friends with several of the Chem-Nuclear drivers and none had ever said anything to him htN about changing logbooks.
