D. R. McGuire, Regional Investigator
SUBJECT:
TELEPHONE INTERVIEW OF GEORGE STUKENBROEKER 1.
REASON FOR INTERVIEW Attempt to identify the spent fuel shipping cask descrbied by Mrs. Lott in her deposition and identified by her as the " silver bullet".
2.
SUMMARY
OF INTERVIEW I contacted Mr. Stukenbroeker, Manager, Nuclear Transportation, National Lead (NL) Industries, by telephone (518-459-2700) at his office on March 27, 1980.
After identifying myself I asked Mr. Stukenbroeker if NL had any cask which looked like the CNS 4-45, but which had a wire mesh cage over it.
He stated that they had several NL1 1/2 (NRC Code 9010) casks which were similar to the CNS 4-45, that had wire cages, and had been used to transport radioactive materials to Chem-Nuclear's Barnwell disposal site.
He further stated that none of the over-the-road vehicles had external (forced) cooling systems.
