Oklahoma 73019 (406) 325 5011 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Region IV 611 Ryan Plaza Drive, Suite 1000 Arlington, TX 76012 Re: Annual report for the period 1 July 1986 to 30 June 1987 for license R-53 in accordance with 10CFR 50.59(b).
The following information is submitted in accordance with the Federal Regulation requirement that an annual report on the operation of our reactor facility be submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission:
(1) There have been no changes in our facility design.
(2) The reactor has not operated since April of 1986, therefore, 0 watt-hours of energy were produced.
(3) lhere were no scrams.
(4) No major maintenance operations were performed during the reporting period.
~(5) One change has occured in facility procedures. The reactor has been defueled and no reactor operation is permitted.
(6) No radioactive effluents were released or discharged to the environment beyond our effective control.
(7) No environmental surveys well performed outside our facility.
(8) There were no unusually high radiation exposures to the facility personnel or laboratory visitors. All the radiation contamination surveys conducted by the university's Radiation Safety Office were within regulatory limits.
(9) Two changes have occurred in facility organization and personnel.
Mr. Michael Passow and Dr. Charles Terrell have lef t the University and their licenses at this facility have been discontinued.
