(405) 325-5011 May 16, 1985 Mr. Cecil 0. Thomas, Chief Standardization and Special Projects Branch Division of Licensing U.S.N.R.C.

Dear Mr. Thomas:
The Reactor Safety Committee has authorized me to apply for an amend-ment to the Requalification's Program for the University of Oklahoma AGN-211PReactor(Docket 50-112).
To change the first sentence in section (II)B. Annual Examinations from:
"Both written and operating exams will be given to all members of the reactor staff (all who hold operators licenses) annually".
to:
" Written and practical operating exams will be required annually for all licensed operators of the reactor staff except the Reactor Director and Reactor Supervisor. Senior Reector Operators holding regular faculty appointments with the Utiiversity of Oklahoma teaching nuclear engineering will be exempt from:the written portion of the annual exam."
The purpose of this amendment is to exempt from examination those people that are directly responsible for the conduct of the requali-fications program and faculty members who because of their training and continued involvement in nuclear engineering would be used to implement the requalifications program. This amendment would not exempt any licensed operator from attending the required requalifica-tion's meetings.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (405)325-1754. Thank you for your consideration.
