1.0 SCOPE OF WORK This specification covers the furnishing of all labor, matarials tools, equipment and supervision necessary for i performing filling, backfilling and compaction work for non- A safety related systema and structures of the Seabrook station.

1.1 WORK INCLUDED L

The work specified herein includes, but is not limited to, the followingt.

1.1.1 Furnishing of earth fill material.

1.1.2 Backfilling and compacting in excavated areas as shown on the drawings.

1.1.3 Placing and compacting fill.

1.1.4 survey lines and grades from control lines and bench marks furnished by Others.

1.1 5 support and protect all exposed utilities during periods of backfilling and compaction installation and later remove supports or other protection as directed by the Construction Managers .

1.1.6 Remove sheeting and shoring of earth and rock banks and slopes during backfilling and compaction as directed by the Construction Hanagers.

1.1.7 Excavate for, prepare bedding and backfill for direct burial power cable.

, 1.1.8 Foundation bedding for non-safety related structures.

3.3 PLACING RANDOM F'ILL 3.3.1 a) Rando= soil fill shall be placed in lifts noe exceeding twelve (12) inches loose thickness. Each lift shall receive a minimum of two complete passes of compaccing equipment and additional passes as required to obtain noc less than 90% of the manimum density shuwn on the dry weight curve as determined by the modified Proctor Compaction Test (ASTM D1557). Water concent shall be uniform. Finished surfaces shall be free of ruta. No puddling or ponding vill be permitted.
