Dear Sir or Madam:

In response to NRC Project Manager email inquiry of January 27, 2010 (

Subject:

Part 73 Exemption Request - Phone call with Waterford 3) and as discussed in subsequent teleconference with NRC Projects on February 2, 2010, Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy) is supplementing the exemption request of Reference 1 with three clarifications, as follows:

1) Entergy is requesting an extension to [...] for establishing conformance Entergy is withdrawing statement [...], and 3) Entergy is providing more detailed milestones associated with achieving compliance with[...].

In the basis for the proposed exemption, Entergy provided that the current Fleet Security Strategy has added greater defense in depth to the Waterford 3 Security Plan by [...]. From the NRC Project review, the NRC needed clarity on [...]. From the teleconference of February 2, 2010, Entergy clarified that there was no intent to [...]. The idea of including

[...] in the basis was to provide the NRC with additional assurance [..

Entergy stated in the exemption request that [...]. After discussion with NRC NSIR and evaluation, Entergy withdraws this statement.
