NRC Written Exam Item Analysis for Exam Administered at Waterford 3 on April 5, 2017 On April 5, 2017 the site administered an NRC approved examination to 11 applicants. All applicants took the 75 question RO section. Additionally, 4 applicants took the SRO only section of the exam.

Independently verified site grading indicates that 6 applicants passed the RO section and one applicant failed the RO section with a grade of 78.6%. All 4 SRO applicants passed the written examination.

Four questions on the RO section of the examination were missed by 50% or greater of all applicants.

Four questions on the SRO ONLY section of the examination were missed by 50% or greater of the SRO applicants. An examination analysis is attached.

Question R027 was changed with prior NRC permission as shown in the enclosed copy of the RO written examination. The change added parenthesis around the letter "s" on the word "ADVs" for choices A and D. All applicants were made aware of this change.

It is the position of Waterford-3 staff that all questions are valid and technically correct, with only one correct answer. A review of the submitted question explanations was performed and found to be correct.
