I have been contacted by many of my constitulents from Limestone County, Alabama regarding their concerns over the proposed relocation of a rock quarry from Elkmont, Alabama to a site on Laughmiller Road in the Tanner Community.
The Rogers Group has filed the required application with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management requesting permits for relocating the quarry.The constituents who have contacted my office are concerned about the proximity of the Laughmiller Road location to the Tennessee Valley Authority's Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant and the effects blasting at the quarry will. bave on operations of the ujuclear plant.
