The NRC letter requests further information from addressees to support the evaluation of NRC Staff Recommendation 2.3: Seismic from the Near-Term Task Force review of the accident at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear facility.
Reference (a) further requested a response within 180 days of NRC's endorsement of the seismic walkdown procedure.
Reference (b), confirmed that Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Unit 1 will use the seismic walkdown procedure, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) 1025286, Seismic Walkdown Guidance:
For Resolution of Fukushima Near-Term Task Force Recommendation 2.3." Seismic. The walkdown procedure was endorsed on May 31, 2012 in Reference (c).Attachments 1-5 of this letter constitute the response for Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Unit 1, including a list of areas that were unable to be inspected due to inaccessibility and the schedule to complete the walkdowns.
