PLA Letter PLA-5931, Britt T McKinney (PPL) to USNRC "Susquehanna Steam Electric Station Proposed License Amendment Numbers 279for Unit 1 Operating License No.NPF-14 and 248 for Unit 2 Operating License No. NPF-22." ARTS/MELLLA Implementation, "dated November 18, 2005.The purpose of this letter is to amend PPL's proposed implementation schedule for the ARTS/MELLLA amendment.

In the above reference, PPL stated in the cover letter"After NRC approval, PPL plans to implement ARTS/MELLLA on Unit 1. PPL plans to implement PRNMS and ARTS/MELLLA on Unit 2 during the Spring 2007 Outage." When the above implementation schedules were proposed, PPL was planning to install ARTS/MELLLA while Unit 1 was online. Based on more recent evaluation, PPL has decided to install ARTS/MELLLA in Unit 1 during a scheduled outage but not later than the Unit 1 Spring 2008 Outage. Therefore, PPL requests that the implementation date for the Unit 1 ARTS/MELLLA amendment be prior to the startup following the Unit 1 Spring 2008 Outage.Unit 2's implementation date for these changes remains prior to startup following the Unit 2 Spring 2007 Outage.-A-001 Document Control Desk PLA-6150 If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Michael H.
