Nuclear Regulatory Commission of forthcoming changes to the names of certain parent companies of licensees for the North Anna Power Station Units 1 and 2, Surry Power Station, Units 1 and 2, Millstone Power Station, Units 1, 2 and 3, Kewaunee Power Station, and the independent spent fuel storage installations (ISFSI) at each of these stations.
In addition, this letter provides notification that Dominion Nuclear Connecticut, Inc. (DNC), which is authorized under Facility Operating Licenses DPR-21, DPR-65, and NPF-49 to operate and possess Millstone Power Station Units 1, 2 and 3, will be changing its name and will be requesting license amendments to reflect this name change. Virginia Electric and Power Company is licensed to operate and possess the North Anna Power Station Units 1 and 2 and the Surry Power Station Units 1 and 2, and holds general and specific licenses for ISFSls at these stations.
DNC is licensed to operate and possess the Millstone Power Station, Units 1, 2, and 3 and holds a general license for an ISFSI at that station. Dominion Energy Kewaunee, Inc. (DEK) is licensed to operate and possess the Kewaunee Power Station (KPS) and holds a general license for an ISFSI at that station. (Millstone Unit 1 and KPS have permanently ceased operation.)
Each of these licensees is a direct or indirect subsidiary of Dominion Resources, Inc., which is their ultimate parent. Dominion Resources, Inc. is engaging in a corporate rebranding, which will result in changes to its name and the names of certain subsidiaries. - Dominion Resources, Inc., which is the ultimate parent of Virginia Electric and Power Company, DNC, and DEK, will be changing its name to Dominion Energy, Inc.
- A subsidiary of current Dominion Resources, Inc. that is currently named Dominion Energy, Inc., which is an intermediate parent of DNC and DEK, will change its name to Dominion Generation, Inc. Effective May 12, 2017
- Dominion Energy Marketing, Inc., which is a subsidiary of current Dominion Energy Inc. and the direct parent of DNC, will change its name to Dominion Energy Generation Marketing, Inc.
- DNC will be changing its name to Dominion Energy Nuclear Connecticut, Inc. These are name changes only. The corporate existence of each of these companies continues uninterrupted and all of their legal characteristics remain the same. The . name changes do not involve any change to the ownership, management (including officers and directors), organization, operation, obligations, rights or liabilities of the companies; nor are there any changes in the function of these companies, or the way they do business.
Therefore, the name changes do not constitute any transfer, either direct or indirect through a transfer of control, of their licenses that would require NRC consent under 10 C.F.R. 50.80. A request for amendment to the licenses for Millstone Power Station Units 1, 2 and 3 to reflect the change to DNC's name will be submitted separately.
