Dear Mr. Martin:
In our letter dated July 22, 1987, the District committed to provide a proposed amendment incorporating several of the recommendations from the NRC's Technical Specification Evaluation Report.
We have incorporated these 19 items into Proposed Amendment No.164, which is currently in internal review, and is on schedule for submittal by September 30, 1987.
The remaining 33 NRC concerns are under evaluation and we will provide their resolution by October 29, 1987. Thus, our effort as described in the July 27, 1987 submittal is progressing on schedule.
)
Recently, there has been some question as to the content of the proposed amendment and whether it would contain certain statements from Standard Technical Specification (STS) Section 3.0, discussed in the June 11, 1987 meeting.
The proposed amendment, as currently written, incorporates Sections 3.0.1, 3.0.2, and 3.0.3 of the STS without modification.
We will address future modifications of the Rancho Seco Technical Specifications with respect to the use of modes in the Rancho Seco implementation of the B&W Owners Group (BWOG) Technical Specification improvement program. The District intends to implement the recommendations of the BWOG effort upon completion of that program.
If you need further information, please contact Mr. Jerry Delezenski of nly staff.
