APPLICANT'S MOTION TO AMEND PARAGRAPH G OF PREHEARING ORDER NUMBER SIX To the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board:

Pursuant to section 2.740 (c) of the Commiss, ion's Rules of Practice, 10 C.F.R. Part 2, and paragraph H of Prehearing Order Number Six, Duke Power Company (" Applicant")

moves the Board for an order amending paragraph G of Pre-hearing Order Nu-ber Six to provide that discovery requests now outstanding will be substantially completed by June 15, 1973.

In November, 19 72, Applicant intimated that it could 1 comulete production pursuant to the Joint Document Request no sooner than June 1, 1973. Despite a prodigious effort to meet the June 1 date specified by the Board in paragraph G of Pre-hearing Order Number Six, it now appears that complete produc-tion cannot ce effected by that date. It is intimated that .cnly  !

1 an additional 14 days would be needed to finish, except for

- The granting of this short extension of time to complete first round discovery should cause no delay in the. proceeding. To date, 3 89 82 document pages have been produced by Applicant. Moreover, that production I appears to be far ahead of the review thereof by the joint discoverers.

For the reasons stated above, good cause exists for the extension sought. Applicant accordingly requests that paragraph G of Prehearing Order Number Six be amended to provide that discovery requests now outstanding be sub-stantially ccmpleted by June 15, 1973.

Respectfully submitted,
