Dear Mr. Hamilton:

In a telephone conversation on April 29, 2008, Mr. Gerard Laska, Senior Operations Examiner, and Mr. Gary Graham, Supervisor Continuing Training, made arrangements for the NRC to inspect the licensed operator requalification program at the McGuire Nuclear Station. The inspection is planned for the week of June 09, 2008, which coincides with your regularly scheduled requalification examination cycle. The staff at your facility should prepare and conduct the requalification examinations in accordance with your NRC-approved requalification program. It is our understanding that your simulator is committed to ANSI/ANS-3.5, 1985, AAmerican National Standard for Nuclear Power Plant Simulators for Use in Operator Training.@

In accordance with 10 CFR 55.59, the NRC has requested that you submit (two weeks prior to the inspection/make ready upon arrival), the material as specified in enclosure one, in order to support the NRC's inspection program needs. Mr. Steve Helms has been advised of this request and provided with the name and address of the NRC lead inspector assigned to this inspection.
