This letter is provided to document the June 17, 2008, telephone conversation between the NRC staff and Carolina Power and Light Company, also known as Progress Energy Carolinas, Inc (PEC). During the telephone conversation, NRC personnel requested that the proposed response schedule for Generic Letter (GL) 2008-01, "Managing Gas Accumulation in Emergency Core Cooling, Decay Heat Removal, and Containment Spray Systems," for H. B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant (HBRSEP), Unit No. 2, be changed as follows: A submittal that provides the information requested by GL 2008-01 is to be provided on or before October 14, 2008, and a supplemental response to GL 2008-01 is to be provided within 90 days following the completion of Refueling Outage 25 (RO-25), currently scheduled to end on November 2, 2008.Concurrence with these proposed dates is hereby provided, with the understanding that the submittal on or before October 14, 2008, will provide the status of actions to address GL 2008-01 at that time, and the supplemental submittal after RO-25 is expected to provide the remainder of the information requested by GL 2008-01.The attachment to this letter provides an Affirmation in accordance with the provisions of Section 182a of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, and 10 CFR 50.54(f).Progress Energy Carolinas, Inc.Robinson Nuclear Plant 3581 West Entrance Road Hartsville, SC 29550 " 2ý United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Serial: RNP-RA/08-0071 Page 2 of 2 If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact Curt Castell at (843) 857-1626.C.
