SUBJECT:

DOCKETING OF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THE LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION OF THE VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER STATION

This Memorandum makes the following notes publicly available:

Actions taken to address recommendations to the Division of License Renewal from the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) as they pertain to the final Safety Evaluation Report (SER) for the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station (VYNPS) license renewal application (LRA).

• The Project Manager (PM) assured that the reader could clearly recognize to whom each paragraph is attributed. One of the OIG comments was that it was difficult to distinguish statements made by the applicant from those made by the staff.

• The PM assured that the basis for acceptance for each request for additional information (RAI) response and exception or enhancement to the Generic Aging Lessons Learned (GALL) Report was documented in the SER.

These actions supported the OIG recommendation for establishing report-writing standards and providing support for conclusions in the license renewal reports.
