On October 17, 2008, the NRC staff project management for your facility will transfer from the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, Division of Policy and Rulemaking, Research and Test Reactors Branch A to the Office of Federal and State Materials and Environmental Management Programs (FSME), Division of Waste Management and Environmental Protection (DWMEP), Decommissioning and Uranium Recovery Licensing Directorate (DURLD) because your facility's licensing and safety basis now reflects a permanently shutdown reactor in possession-only status. This change in regulatory oversight will enhance NRC processing of any decommissioning-related licensing actions that you may elect to submit and it will secure FSME experience and expertise in the evaluation of any future dismantlement, decontamination, fuel removal and transportation, waste transportation, and license termination activities.
