APPROVAL OF FINAL SITE SURVEY PLAN FOR WORCESTER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE NUCLEAR RESEARCH REACTOR
Dear Mr. Curley:
The Worcester Polytechnic Institutes (WPI) Decommissioning Plan (DP) was approved contingent upon the licensee submitting a Final Status Survey (FSS) Plan, as a supplement to the DP, for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review and approval prior to performing FSS work.
In a letter dated January 18, 2013 (NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) ML13046A106), you submitted and requested approval of the FSS Plan (ML130406A107) for the WPI research reactor.
NRC staff has reviewed your FSS Plan submittal and have determined that it completes the DP requirements in 10 CFR 50.82(b)(4)(iii).
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice for Domestic Licensing Proceedings and Issuance of Orders, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
