On February 28, 2007, the U.S. Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration(MARAD) submitted its Decommissioning Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Rev. 1, for the N.S.

SAVANNAH to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for review and approval. In accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(a)(2), MARAD was required to submit a description of its QAP for the NS SAVANNAH, for inclusion into the Safety Analysis Report, to NRC by June 10, 1983.
