==Dear Mr. Heymer,==

By letter dated October 30, 2006, the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) submitted for U.S. NuclearRegulatory Commission (NRC) staff review, its proposed Industry Training Program Description, Revision 0. The NRC staff has performed an acceptance review of NEI 06-13, Revision 0, and found that the material presented is sufficient to begin our comprehensive review. The staff expects to transmit a request for additional information (RAI) to NEI by January 15, 2007, and issue its safety evaluation report by March 30, 2007. The staff estimates that this review will require approximately 120 staff hours including project management time. The review schedule milestones and estimated costs were discussed in a telephone call with Carol Berrigan of your staff on December 18, 2006, wherein, it was agreed that NEI would respond to the staff's RAIs within 30 days barring complications.Section 170.21 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations requires that topical reports aresubject to fees based upon the full cost of the review. ACCEPTANCE FOR REVIEW OF TOPICAL REPORT NO. NEI 06-13, INDUSTRY TRAINING PROGRAM DESCRIPTION, NUCLEAR ENERGY INSTITUTE, REVISION 0 (PROJECT NO. 689)

Dear Mr. Heymer,

By letter dated October 30, 2006, the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) submitted for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff review, its proposed Industry Training Program Description, Revision 0. The review schedule milestones and estimated costs were discussed in a telephone call with Carol Berrigan of your staff on December 18, 2006, wherein, it was agreed that NEI would respond to the staffs RAIs within 30 days barring complications.

Section 170.21 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations requires that topical reports are subject to fees based upon the full cost of the review. You did not request a fee exemption; therefore, staff hours and the contractor cost, if applicable, will be billed accordingly.

Sincerely

/RA/
