The Shift Manager for Salem unit-1 called concerning an endangered species caught in the plant trash rack. "At approximately 0930 [EDT], 3/25/2015 a live Atlantic sturgeon was removed from the Salem Unit 1 Circulating Water System (CWS) Intake trash racks at the Salem Generating Station. The Sturgeon was returned to the river at 0937. A report was made by Environmental Licensing to the National Marine Fisheries at 0957 and the NJDEP Division of Fish & Wildlife at 0954, concerning the Atlantic sturgeon. Nuclear Environmental Affairs has made a determination that this event warrants a 4 hr report to the NRC under RAL 11.8.2.a."
