SEND VIA EMAIL June 6, 2023 LR-E23-0065 Julie Crocker Chief, ESA Fish, Energy, and Ecosystems Branch Greater Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office National Marine Fisheries Service 55 Great Republic Drive Gloucester, MA 01930 SALEM AND HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATIONS BIOLOGICAL OPINION GAR-2020-02842 ATLANTIC & SHORTNOSE STURGEON FIN CLIP ANALYSIS FACILITIES The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC) and the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) concluded formal consultation under Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended, (ESA) on April 17, 2023, with NRCs issuance of a Biological Opinion for Continued Operations of Salem and Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Stations and Incidental Take Statement (ITS) to PSEG. In accordance with Term and Condition (T&C) 9 of the ITS, PSEG is requesting a list of approved individuals/facilities with the appropriate ESA authority and technical ability to carry out the genetic identification of collected fin clips of Atlantic and shortnose sturgeon. Upon receiving the list, PSEG will establish an agreement with one of the listed facilities and arrange for transfer and analysis of the fin clips in accordance with T&Cs 9, 20, and 30.
