In a letter dated~0ct,ober 7, 1993, Consumers Power Co submitted an engineering analysis and root cause evaluation for a crack discovered in a pressurizer nozzle safe end. This letter contained references to reports of research and investigations concerning primary water stress corrosion cracking (PWSCC). in the nuclear industry. One of the references was CEN-406-P, Revision 00, "A status Report on CEOG Activities Concerning Primary Water Stress Corrosion Cracking of lnconel 600 Penetrations," dated May 1991 .

To assist the NRC in docketing a copy of this report, our letter dated May 24, 1995 provided an affidavit to justify the report's proprietary designation in accordance with 10 .CFR 2. 790. After additional NRC questions concerning which parts of the report, if any, could be released for public access, it was decided that the issue could be best resolved by submittal of a non-proprietary version of CEN~

406-P.

Accordingly, the non-proprietary report CEN-406-NP, "A status Report on CEOG Activities Concerning Primary Water Stress Corrosion Cracking of lnconel-600 Penetrations." is submitted as Attachment 1.
