As requested by your e-mail dated August 26, 2019 (Agency Wide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML19239A088), pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 71, Condition No. 6 in Certificate of Compliance No. 9341 for the Model No. BEA Research Reactor package is amended to incorporate the revised operating procedures submitted with your letter date July 31, 2019 (ADAMS Accession No. ML19212A771). All other conditions of Certificate of Compliance No. 9341, Revision 7, (ADAMS Package Accession No. ML19038A094) shall remain the same. This authorization expires on December 31, 2019.

9341, for the Model No. BEA Research Reactor package (BRR) to supplement the operating procedures to correct step number and section number references. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission previously reviewed five revised operating procedures pages and approved them in a letter authorization on August 5, 2019 (Agency Wide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML19217A124).
OFS requested extension of the letter authorization to support two shipments of irradiated research reactor spent fuel from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Rhode Island Nuclear Science Center. OFS stated that the documents supporting these shipments were developed and approved utilizing the letter authorization issued by NRC on August 5, 2019.
NRC is extending the expiration date to ensure sufficient time for both shipments as well as a shipment from the University of Missouri Research Reactor to occur.
All other conditions of CoC No. 9341, Revision 7, (ADAMS Package Accession No. ML19038A094) shall remain the same.
A letter authorization has been granted to authorize shipments using the operating procedures references in Condition No. 6 in CoC No. 9341 as modified by OFS submittal dated July 31, 2019 (ADAMS Accession No. ML19212A771). The staff agrees that the change does not affect the ability of the package to meet the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 71.}}
