INTERVENORS' MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME FOR PRODUCTION OF DOCUMENTS .

Intervenors (Cities of High Point, et al.) hereby move that the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board extend to and including February 12, 1973, the time for production of documents in response to the initial discovery request of Applicant Duke Power Company.

The extension is necessary because of the large volume of docu-ments still to be produced under the Applicant's request. The respon--

ding cities have made every effort to produce the requested documents expeditiously, and have made considerable progress already. We are advised by responsible municipal officers, however, that a further thirty-day extension is needed.

The requested extension will in no way ' delay the proceedings.

At the second prehearing conference, this Board granted Applicant an extension of time running until 1 June 1973, for completion of its require'd production of documents. Since the subsequent steps depen-dent on completion of discovery cannot in any event be taken until after that date, the much shorter extension here prayed for will not result in additional delay.

Respectfully submitted,
