Audit Results Summary Report Supporting TAC ME3775 - BF1 AREVA Fuel Transition and related BF2/3 Request Chris:
In accordance with NRR Office Instruction LIC-111, Regulatory Audits, I visited the AREVA Bethesda Offices on April 21, 2011, to audit the Browns Ferry (BF) Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA) Plant Parameters Document, ANP-2912(P).
This review was conducted in an audit setting because the licensee stated that the subject document contained three-party, proprietary information, and that the document was designated as proprietary in its entirety.
During the audit, I reviewed initial condition and setpoint assumptions used in the AREVA-furnished emergency core cooling system (ECCS) evaluation for BF Units 1, 2, and 3. I compared the values contained in the plant parameters document to those contained in the BF Technical Specifications and did not identify any significant or non-conservative discrepancies.
The NRC staff confirmed that the licensee is using TS-derived values in the ECCS evaluation for Browns Ferry Units 1, 2, and 3, and no issues or open items remain from the audit. As a result, the NRC can withdraw the following request for additional information questions, or the licensee may be informed that a response is not necessary:
For the Browns Ferry 1 AREVA Fuel Transition Request, LOCA RAI, Section V, RAI 2.
For the Browns Ferry 2 and 3 LPCI MG Set Elimination Request, LOCA RAI, Section IV, RAI 2.
The documentation guidance for Audit Reports is contained in Section 4.2 of LIC-111, available in the Agencywide Document Access and Management System (ADAMS) at ML082900195.

For the Browns Ferry 1 AREVA Fuel Transition Request, LOCA RAI,Section V, RAI 2.

For the Browns Ferry 2 and 3 LPCI MG Set Elimination Request, LOCA RAI,Section IV, RAI 2.

The documentation guidance for Audit Reports is contained in Section 4.2 of LIC-111, available in the Agencywide Document Access and Management System (ADAMS) at ML082900195.
