NRC's letter dated March 29, 2010, Watts Bar Nuclear Plant -
Notification of Licensed Operator Initial Examination 05000390/2010301 As documented in the referenced letter, operating and written examinations for a group of operator license applicants are scheduled to begin on August 23, 2010. The referenced letter also indicated that the outlines for the operating test should be provided to NRC by June 9, 2010. Consistent with this schedule, the outlines were placed in the overnight mail to Mr. Gerard W. Laska, NRC Region II, on June 8, 2010.
This letter contains no new commitments and in accordance with 10 CFR 55.49, "Integrity of examinations and tests," and NUREG 1021, "Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors," appropriate measures have been taken to ensure examination integrity and security. Accordingly, it is requested that the exam outlines provided to Mr. Laska be withheld from public disclosure until the examinations are completed later this year.
