8/17 Discussion with licensee at Palisades 1. Extent of condition NDE on CRDM housings with only cover the area where the flaw occurred on CRDM 24. The licensee feels they understand the failure mechanism to be similar to Fort Calhoun. They recognize they are at risk only doing this small area.2. They think NDE machine will most likely arrive on Sunday. They will call Elba when the truck leaves Pittsburgh.

The machine is conventional not phased array.3. The licensee will do an NDE on CRDM 24 of the area above the flaw that they did not do the other day on site before they send it to Lynchberg.
