Pursuant to the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board's ("Board") Order (Identifying Hearing Procedures, requesting information related to scheduling, and deferring deadlines for production of initial disclosures and the hearing file) dated October 26, 2017, the staff of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission ("Staff") anticipates publishing the Safety Evaluation ("SE") in late August 2018. This timing is contingent on several issues including timely and complete responses to the Staff's request for additional information ("RAI") and the timing and ability to support a site audit at the beginning of 2018. The Staff will provide an update should the projected publishing date change.

Docket No. 50-443-LA2

Dear Administrative Judges:

Pursuant to the Atomic Safety and Licensing Boards (Board) Order (Identifying Hearing Procedures, requesting information related to scheduling, and deferring deadlines for production of initial disclosures and the hearing file) dated October 26, 2017, the staff of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (Staff) anticipates publishing the Safety Evaluation (SE) in late August 2018. This timing is contingent on several issues including timely and complete responses to the Staffs request for additional information (RAI) and the timing and ability to support a site audit at the beginning of 2018. The Staff will provide an update should the projected publishing date change.

Respectfully submitted,
