INTRODUCTION Pursuant to the Atomic Safety and Licensing Boards (Board) direction during the parties May 16, 2019 conference call, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Staff and NextEra Energy Seabrook, LLC (NextEra) jointly submit the following supplemental information regarding the requested tour of Seabrook Station Unit 1 (Seabrook).1 NRC Staff and NextEra are able to accommodate C-10s request to defer the start time of the tour until 12:00 PM on June 21, 2019.2 And, in light of the Boards plan to have only one law clerk in attendance, NextEra is able to accommodate C-10s request for up to three representatives at the tour without splitting the tour into two separate groups.
In addition to the general format and locations identified in the original proposal, NextEra and NRC Staff also are able to accommodate the Boards request to observe the following, either on the tour or during the pre-or post-tour discussions:
(1) demonstration of a crack index measurement; 1
Counsel for NRC Staff authorized NextEra to file this joint proposal.
2 NRC Staff is not available on the other alternative dates discussed on the callJune 26 and 27.
2 (2) example of a torn seismic gap seal; (3) example of an anchor used in the anchor testing; and, (4) examples of in-situ ASR and non-ASR cracking.
As noted previously, participants will be required to provide certain information to NextEra in advance of the tour to allow for efficient access authorization processing.
Accordingly, NextEra will distribute visitor information forms well in advance of the tour. Also prior to the tour, NextEra will provide guidance regarding proper identification and clothing to tour participants.
