Docket No. 50-482: Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation 60-day response to NRC Request for Information Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(f) Regarding the Seismic Aspects of Recommendation 2.1 of the Near-Term Task Force Review of Insights from the Fukushima Dai-ichi Accident Gentlemen:

On March 12, 2012, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Reference 1 to Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC). Enclosure 1 of Reference 1 contains specific Requested Actions, Requested Information, and Required Responses associated. with Recommendation 2.1, Seismic. Reference 1 requires that within 60 days of the date of the NRC's issuance of guidance on screening and prioritization criteria, and the implementation details of the risk assessment, WCNOC submit: (1) its intention to follow the NRC-developed guidance, or (2) an alternative approach, including acceptance criteria. In accordance with References 1 and 2, the 60-day response is due to the NRC by April 29, 2013.

WO 13-0033 Page 2 of 3 WCNOC intends to respond to Enclosure 1 of Reference 1 by following the approach described in Reference 3 on the schedule provided in Reference 3. The Reference 3 schedule has an end date as late as December 31, 2020, depending on WCNOC's assigned group for completion of risk evaluations.
