Clinton Power Station No;ffication of Unusual Event on Friday, November 11, 1988, at 2012 noers, a Notification of Unusual Event (NOUE) was declared in accordance with "=ertency Plan Implementing Procedure EC-02 Emergency Classifications. This p "aedure requires that a NOUE be declared at the occurance of a fire la4* tag more than 10 minutes.

Clinton Power Station was operating at approximately 86% power in mode 1.

On Friday, November 11, 1988, at 2002 hours0.0232 days <br />0.556 hours <br />0.00331 weeks <br />7.61761e-4 months <br />, a generator trip with reactor scram occurred due to a sudden pressure actuation on the 1C main power transformer. At 2004 security reported a fire on an insulator of the IC main power transformer.

The State of Illinois was notified of the NOUE a', 2015 hours0.0233 days <br />0.56 hours <br />0.00333 weeks <br />7.667075e-4 months <br /> on Friday, November 11, 1988, and the Nuclear Regulatot,' Comrsission (NRC) Incident Response Center was notified at 2033 hours0.0235 days <br />0.565 hours <br />0.00336 weeks <br />7.735565e-4 months <br />. S ie '3RC Resident Inspector was also notified.

The plant responded by dispatching the fire arigade. The deluge system on the 1C main pcwer transformer auto-initi ated, however, the fire brigade did spray the transformer to get a'41 sides of the transformer.

No offsite support was requisted. The rite was reported out at 2035 hours0.0236 days <br />0.565 hours <br />0.00336 weeks <br />7.743175e-4 months <br /> and a reflash watch established. The plant was placed in a stable condition. The Shif t Supervisor terminated the NOUE at 2136 hours0.0247 days <br />0.593 hours <br />0.00353 weeks <br />8.12748e-4 months <br />.

The State of Illinois was notified of termination of the NOUE at '143 hours0.00166 days <br />0.0397 hours <br />2.364418e-4 weeks <br />5.44115e-5 months <br /> on Friday, November 11, 1988, and the Nuclear Regulatusy Commission (NRC) Incident Response Center was notified of the termination at 2150 hours0.0249 days <br />0.597 hours <br />0.00355 weeks <br />8.18075e-4 months <br />. The NRC Resident Inspector was also notified.
