Annual Effluent Release Report Gentlemen:-,

Pursuant to 10 CFR 72.44(d)(3), Maine Yankee-submits the following information relative to release of radioactive effluents from the Maine Yankee on-site Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) during the previous 12 months of ISFSI operation. The Maine Yankee ISFSI started spent fuel storage operation on August 8, 2002.

The Maine Yankee spent fuel storage cask system (Reference (b)) is designed and constructed as a leak tight spent fuel storage facility, therefore, the leak tight confinement boundary does not provide a path for the release of radioactive effluents.

There were no radioactive gaseous releases associated with Operation of the ISFSI.

There were no radioactive liquid releases associated with Operation of the ISFSI.
