Hatch Nuclear Plant Units 1&2 Notification of Completion of Corrective Actions - Findings Associated with Inspection of Implementation of Interim Cyber Security Milestones 1-7 Ladies and Gentlemen:

Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) received Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Inspection Report 2013404, dated October 23, 2013, which documented the results of NRC Temporary Instruction 2201/004, "Inspection of Implementation of Interim Cyber Security Milestones 1-7" performed for Hatch Nuclear Plant (HNP), Units 1&2.

As documented in the report, two of the findings identified in this inspection were determined to involve violations, with two additional licensee-identified violations (LIVs) also listed. These were all treated as non-cited violations (NCVs) and a determination was made by the NRC Security Issues Forum (SIF) panel to exercise enforcement discretion due to the "good-faith" attempt of SNC to interpret and implement the Interim Cyber Security Milestones 1 - 7 commitments.

The report requested SNC to provide, upon completion of all corrective actions, written notification to the NRC's regional office as to the method and date of closure for the identified issues. The Enclosure to this letter constitutes the requested written notification.

This letter contains no NRC commitments. If you have any questions, please contact Joshua West at 912.366.2000 ext. 2350 C.R. Pierce Regulatory Affairs Director Sool ft CRP/ndj/lac
