Dear Mr. Way:

Southern Nuclear Operating Company (Southern Nuclear) last submitted a five year resubmission of its Certification Pertaining to Foreign Interests on June 1, 2007. The submission is made for a determination that the degree and extent of Foreign Ownership, Control or Influence (FOCI) over Southern Nuclear does not pose an undue risk to the national security.

Pursuant to 10 CFR 95. 17(a)(1 ), Southern Nuclear is notifying you of an update to Southern Nuclear's FOCI certificate. In particular, we are updating the Owners, Officers, Directors, and Executive Personnel (OODEP) Attachment to reflect that Marsha S. Johnson, Senior Vice President Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer of Southern Company, has been named Vice President of Southern Nuclear. In addition, we have a departure to report.

This amendment contains information that is sensitive, proprietary and confidential. Please withhold from public disclosure in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 2.390. If there are any questions concerning this updated information, please contact Ms. Moanica Caston at (205) 992-5316.
