Ladies and Gentlemen:

In letter NL-23-0136, dated April 5, 2023, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) submitted a license amendment request (LAR) [ML23095A132] that proposed a more restrictive TS Action relative to COL Appendix A, Technical Specifications (TS) 3.1.9, Chemical and Volume Control System (CVS)

Demineralized Water Isolation Valves and Makeup Line Isolation Valves along with additional changes for consistency, clarity, and to eliminate duplication with regulations.

During a public meeting held on May 11, 2023 [ML23129A798], the NRC staff presented draft supplemental information [ML23128A077] that needed to be addressed before the subject LAR can be accepted. After consideration of the required timeframe to submit the supplemental information, SNC hereby withdraws the LAR. SNC expects to re-evaluate the previous LAR submittal and submit a revised request for license amendment.

In accordance with 10 CFR 50.91, SNC is notifying the State of Georgia of the withdrawal of LAR-23-006 by transmitting a copy of this letter to the designated State Official.
