VIRGIL C. SUMMER NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 1 - TRANSMITTAL OF FERC DAM INSPECTION REPORT (CAC NO. 001370/05000395/L-2017-LNS-0015; EPID L-2019-LRO-0063)
Dear Mr. Lippard:
Enclosed is a copy of the Dam Safety Inspection Report prepared by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). This report contains the results of an inspection conducted on May 17, 2019, of the Service Water Pond (SWP) Dam at the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station, Unit 1. Based on observations made during the field inspection, review of data submitted by the owner, and discussions with the NRC staff and licensee representatives, FERC found that the SWP Dam embankment and appurtenances were in satisfactory condition and adequately maintained for service, stability, and longevity.
The enclosure is considered Critical Energy Infrastructure Information (CEII) by FERC and sensitive security-related information by the NRC, and thus is being withheld from public disclosure.
The enclosure transmitted herewith contains Critical Energy Infrastructure Information (CEII) as designated by the FERC and Security-Related Information as designated by the NRC. When separated from the enclosure, this transmittal document is decontrolled.
