SUMMARY

REPORT ASSOCIATED WITH THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION STAFFS REVIEW OF CLINTON POWER STATION, UNIT 1, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (EPID NUMBER: L-2024-LNE-0000) (DOCKET NUMBER: 50-461)

Dear Christopher D. Wilson:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted the environmental scoping process and solicited public comments pursuant to Section 51.29 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) from April 29, 2024, to May 29, 2024. This process helped determine the scope of the staffs environmental review of the application for license renewal of the renewed facility operating licenses for Clinton Power Station, Unit 1. The scoping process is the first step in the development of the Clinton specific supplement to NUREG-1437, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants.

At the conclusion of the scoping process, the staff prepared the enclosed environmental scoping summary report identifying comments received during the scoping period. In accordance with 10 CFR 51.29(b), the NRC staff will send a copy of the scoping summary report to each participant in the scoping process.
